Coldwater Creek Chambray Shirt Review

Hi everyone! This is just a quick post since I received this in the mail today and wanted to share with you what I thought. I was excited about the Coldwater Creek sale that I saw on Jean's blog (Extra Petite) so I went ahead and bought myself the chambray in black PXS (buy) since it's an item I've been hunting for. It was so cheap at $12 that I couldn't resist!

I was in a panic to do some last minute holiday shopping so these photos were rushed. Please excuse the excessive wrinkling of the shirt. =P
Even wearing the shirt with a belt, I felt it was still very loose around the arms/torso and there was too much gathering of fabric at the waist. I also had to roll up the sleeves again because they hit at an awkward length as illustrated above. I thought it was strange how the front was a few inches shorter than the back tail too. I was hoping it would be more petite-friendly seeing as it was the smallest size but it fit like a regular size M.

I do like the off-black shade (true to the color in the first photo), the stitching, and the fact that the material is warmer than what I expected but unfortunately, I don't love it and the fit is way off for me. I would recommend for women with broader shoulders and a more substantial bust to give it a try though. This is definitely a return and I will be back on my search for the perfect chambray.

What do you guys think?? Did anyone else order this and have any feedback?

  1. I was thinking to buy when I saw a post on Extra Petite and actually I almost BUY last night.. but I did not since the website was shut down in a last minute.  Now I see that look big on you and happy I could not buy (I'm a little smaller than you). but I love that color... the color I almost buy was black too (and maybe red).

  2. Oh, I almost bought this - glad I didn't now! I'm sorry it doesn't fit, though, since you're right about the color being very pretty. I think it does work with the belt or possibly if you wore it tucked into a skirt? The sleeves can also be rolled up, I'm assuming, which might make it look a little better.

  4. the way it fits is a bit loose, it doesn't really fit, even for purposely loose clothing! sorry it didn't work out for you :(

  5. Yeah good thing you didn't buy it because it was an instant return for me. Let me know if you come across any chambrays that fit and at a decent price! =P

  6. I know...so sad! It looks ok with the belt but I prefer it to be more fitted in the arms and torso area. Oh well...better luck next time!

  13. I posted a review back in August of this lighter chambray-style top from JCPenney that runs really small:

  17. I like the way you belted your shirt, but without it it is too big

  18. I love the dark color on you...such a bummer that it doesn't fit the way you were hoping.  Crazy considering it was a PXS!
The good news is sometimes these types of product/sizing reviews are more helpful for your readers.  You can bet that we'll take caution with sizing when ordering from Coldwater Creek.
    Happy Thursday Karen!

  21. I like this muted black color and I think I could even live with the roomy torso (looks much better belted!) but the loose sleeves along with the awkward length just look weird.

  22. Thanks girly! Yeah it was still big in the arms even with the belt. =(

  23. Seriously! I liked the color too...I guess the sizes at CWC just run big. haha That's exactly why I posted it to let my readers be aware of their sizing issues. Happy Holidays Marion!
